Products Used: PermEntry® Stairway with Bilco® Classic Series Steel Sided Cellar Door Project Description: This egress system was installed in an 8" thick, cinder block foundation wall. There was a lot of other masonry work taking place simultaneously at the house. We used our excavator to create the hole for the stairs. All of the excavated material stayed on site and was distributed as the homeowner directed. We cut the cinder block to create the opening for the new door assembly at the bottom of the stairs. Since we were on a load bearing wall, we installed two masonry headers to carry the load. We installed the PermEntry stairs and installed the Bilco steel door on top of the stairs. Finally, we backfilled the hole with stone and cleaned up the yard.
